I designed this DVD during my internship at Sagmeister Inc. Lou Reed wanted to have a self-portrait to be on the cover: A black and white photo with the profile of his face on it.

A “back-cover” resulted out of this wish: All information that should be written on the DVD-cover is situated on the front side of the CD (also the tracks, the bar code and the legal information). The only thing you can see from Lou Reed is his ear. The most important part of the cover, the face of Lou Reed is situated on the back of the cover (without any type on it). So the back somehow turns into the actual cover of the DVD.

And the fly? Well, no Spanish Fly without a fly I guess. – It suddenly was there.
